Old Maps of Kugahara (2)

Surveyed in 1906, Issued in 1908
Combination of "Omori" 1:20,000 Scale (Official Version) and "Mizonokuchi" 1:20,000 Scale (Official Version)

Names of settlements such as "Dodobashi", "Honmura", "Hara" and "Mukai" are indicated. "Dodobashi" was a separate villege since old days. As indicated in the "History of Kugahara" section of this web site, Kugahara in the Edo Era was split into "Kugahara Villege of Rokugo Teritory" and "Kugahara Villege of Magome Teritory". While the villeges were united in 1878 into one Kugahara Villege, the villege people called the Rokugo side as "Hara" and the Magome side as "Mukai".

This map has been copied from 1:25,000 scale topographic maps, 1:20,000 scale official maps and 1:10,000 scale topographic maps issued by Geographical Survey Institute (GSI), Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Japan under an approval of the Director General of GSI.
